I like my Thimbleberries books, and Pinterest boards. I also follow a number of blogs. Sometimes I just like to pet the fabrics and play with combinations.

So please help - what are your favorites?
Over the years, I've collected tons of quilting magazines. My daughter suggested that I go through them and tear out the patterns that appealed to me, put them in sheet protectors then put those in binders. Which was a pretty darn good idea! I donated the "remnants" of the magazines to my area guild. Now, if I'm "tired" of my current project or just in a ho-hum mood, I grab my binders (4 of them so far!! so you can just imagine how many magazines that was!!) and go through the patterns. I get lots of fresh inspiration without spending any more money. And often it reminds me "oh THAT'S the pattern that I bought this group of fabrics for!!" LOL!!
And now that reminded me that I have about 6 magazines that I need to "rip" and put in the binders.

I'm a die-hard traditionalist, but I still like to watch stuff like "quilting arts" on tv or internet, to see what new techniques and fabrics are being used. However, I'm not an artist and have no interest in embellishing, painting, hand dyeing fabric and such, but I sure am amazed at the talented people who manage to do all this. I really don't like much of the new fabrics, but buy it if I'm making a quilt for a young person or a friend who loves it. I rarely buy mags anymore since the modern isn't my style, but I still look through them and will buy if there's "I've got to try that" in them. Finally, I think museums are a great place to get inspiration. So many artists present works that would make wonderful quilts, especially today.

I love Bonnie Hunter quilts, and currently working on a Pat Speth "Sunny Lanes". There is so much inspiration out there. I read tons of blogs. I love looking at the variety of patterns and colors they use. I also have the same problem of wanting to make more projects than I can get done, but don't consider that a bad thing. I'll never run out of ideas.

I spend way to much time on Pinterest. Love getting ideas from there and looking for the pattern can be a journey in its self. No matter what you are thinking pinterest will give you ideas.
