I just finished piecing a top where I ended up with 70 triangles that I cut off two corners of each block. The largest leg of the triangle is 4 inches. Any suggestions what I can do with them?

make a pieced border--mix with some plain strips to get the correct lenght needed.

Are they single triangles or half square triangle units? If single, pair with neutral triangles. In either case, trim to HST. With 70 at 3-1/2 to 4 inches you could make a baby quilt. There are many possible settings for HST quilts.

Keep them and use them for a small project or incorporate them into a scrap quilt.

Look at quilterschache.com/QuiltBlocksGalore.html They have pictures of blocks with many to choose from using HST.

Since they're not a standard standard size, I like the border idea.

Or make strips of them and border with strips to get standard size.

or make the standard size of pieces in the quilt to match their size.

My cutoff triangles were a lot smaller, but I used them for the border.

I thought about sewing them into squares for a border, but once I did the math, I don't think I have enough to go around. I'm trying to wrap my head around how to go about putting them with a neutral to make squares. My right angle sides are 3 1/2 inches, so if I were to cut 3 1/2 inch squares out of the neutral, that would work, right?

Maybe make the HST into pinwheels, then scatter them with plain blocks around the border?
