What to do with leftover HST's????

Those are large ones. What about quartering some of them? You'd get two smaller HST's and two small solid blocks. Then play around with arrangements of both the large blocks and the small ones to form a new design. Could be lots of fun!

Barb, by any chance did your second quilt shown come from a book "Spectacular Scraps" by Judy Hooworth and Margaret Rolfe? It is a book I really love. It has a ton of patterns, all of which only use HST's. The patterns are developed by your choice of fabrics, and by the placement of darks and lights. As soon as I saw it, I thought of this book. Anyway, both are beautiful, and they do show how pretty quilts can be just using HST's.

Using Bonnie Hunter's method to get bonus HST's, I now have 44 5" HST's and 30 4" HST's leftover from the making of the quilt in this picture.
Does anybody know of any patterns that use HST's? or have any idea of what pattern to do with them? I'm thinking probably lap size...

Some people have asked for the name of the original quilt...
The original quilt was made from a pattern called Stars Over the Prairie and was in a book called By Request put out by Gathering Friends.
It was very fun and easy to make and used up a LOT of scraps!
