I've been lurking...need some help
I've been "lurking" on the board for a while and there are some really amazing quilters here. I chuckled at the person who went "overboard" buying fabric since I came home with nearly 60 yards of fabric I found on sale... but then I started a double irish chain ( so I obviously needed fabric!) and decided to add a seminole border... so far so good. I figured out how to use three colors and started sewing it together... here's where I ran into trouble. How do I make the corner? I've looked online and in my books, but all I can find is 9 patch cornerstone blocks and I know there must be a way to continue with the seminole border around the entire quilt. Can anyone help? I searched the tutorials too and didn't find anything but that is probably my lack of computer skill more than anything else. Thanks for help.

Use graph paper to work the design around the corner yourself. (I keep jumping on this soapbox, but it really works!)
Perhaps you could place the pieced borders around opposing corners and leave the opposite corners bare of piecing, just with a plain border.

I used graph paper to figure out the border itself, I will try it to figure out the corners too. I know I've seen instructions somewhere but do you think I can lay my hands on it when I need it....grrrr

I think you're trying to say you're looking for instructions on how to mitre your corners unless I'm misunderstanding you. I know what it's called, I've even tried it a couple of times & I'm sorry to say I can't get it right. I hope this will at least give you something to search that will help you. Best of luck!

I have Basic Seminole Patchwork by Cheryl Greider Bradkin if you can get a copy of it or one of her other books, she explains how to cut your pieces to fit around corners with straight cut pieces & with angle cut pieces, but I'm sorry I wouldn't be able to describe it, and I haven't done it myself.
Here's an article that might help http://www.unitednotions.com/fp_aviary.pdf
