Default Janome 6500-Hesitating

My Janome 6500 has started hesitating while quilting, also when I use the deco stitches. It will almost stop then catch back up. Have any of you experienced this? I am wondering if it is the foot pedal. I have had it almost 2 years, and I have used it almost daily. Thanks

Have you ever had it serviced? I take my machine in once a year. when they pull off the back it is like felt in there from all the fabric dust we generate.
It might be the timing, although that is more likely to show as skipped stitches.
And it could be the foot pedal needs cleaned, I just heard from a friend that had to have that done.
Her's wasn't hesitating, it would continue to run the machine when she took her foot off.

Good luck!

I had a problem like that with my older Pfaff, it has been well used for over 25 years. The cord going into the foot pedal had to be replaced, and now is as good as new.

I had a problem with my viking like this and I was told on the phone is was probably the Mother board. After buying another Machine I took it in to the shop later and It was a lot of lint and thread caught up in the thread uptake. It works real nice after getting it serviced. I did need a foot pedal part replace once on that machine after years went by.

I will take it to get it serviced, I have been just getting the lint from under the bobbin case, I'm afraid to do anything else to it. I will have to wait until next month, I just got 2 older Singers serviced this month. It acts as though something isn't making good contact. It will almost stop, then speed up again. Thanks, to all of you.
