I wash them. I have found that many people have read all about the difficulties of sound quilt care and they are afraid to wash them for fear they will destroy them. Plus I have pets, kids, DH who usually touch them in some way and there are cooking odors etc in the house. When I give a quilt away I want it to SMELL like it's new!

yep wash it right after "I" sleep under it...Suppose bring good luck if you sleep under it first!
Really? I have never heard of this before. I think I would feel really weird sleeping under someone else's quilt.

I always wash. I like the look. And even though my fabric is stored in a pet free room, I do all my sewing in our front room and I want to make sure its all clean. One of my nephews has allergies.

I wash my fabric before I use it. I don't wash a quilt when I am done with it.

Never I like the new look. I do tell the recipient that it will crinkle up a bit when washed and don't panic
