Default What do you think of this machine?

I have a chance to buy this machine for $300 used with no attachments. I own a Janome now so mine would work. I have wanted to upgrade but can't afford much more than this. Owner got it at a flea market and said she used it and it worked great. Is there anything I need to worry about with this machine? Thanks for any input.

Looks to me as if the harp size is small (area under the arm), which means it will be difficult to stuff a large quilt through when quilting. I didn't find a lot of reviews of this specific model, but here are some links to comments I found online:

I did a search on "completed listings" on eBay and found one that sold recently for $450:

Thank you Prism. Off topic but how do you find completed listings. I hear it a lot but have never been ever to find it.

Go to eBay and enter a search for whatever you are looking for. Once the page comes up with items, scan down the lefthand side of the screen. There will be several different categories of filters there. Under "Show only" you can click on the box for "completed items" and it will pull up only listings that have been completed. The items with a green price show items that were actually sold; the others will be items that were listed but not actually sold. I think they keep these for only the last 3 months or so.

I would always want to test a DSM before buying it. Smaller harp doesn't impeded anyone's quilting ability. I quilted my queen size Best of Show winning quilt (my avatar) on my Bernina 1530 which has a slightly under 7". You just need great support for the quilt.
