I have a long chest of drawers, I think I could build the shelf portion on top of it and make something like this.
Good idea anyway.
This one is a beautiful piece of furniture.

Looks nice.

Have you asked/checked on the load capacity of the shelves?

Fabric and books get heavy.

Reason for asking: I bought a bookcase - loaded it with books - and the shelves are sagging.

After checking on the load capacity like bear said, I would buy it in a heartbeat, add holes and more shelves, clear glass doors, a light up top, and my pretty stash for color.

I really like it.

That is really nice! My hubby built mine that came from a long buffet. Then made two more like it. Yours will hold a lot of sewing stuff.
