The colors are right but somehow the fabric is not.....now that you asked. The pictures are pretty busy so I think I'd go with a solid, perhaps one that matches that yellow with the dots....or maybe the green/blue behind it.

I think it works & looks good! Not sure though, if the style of fabric is right for the blocks. That being said, I think it's best to go with your first reaction so if you love it, do it!

I love it. Blends very well with the funny lotteria card blocks. Now, just don't ask my opinion of the funny lotteria card blocks! LOL!!!

I agree with piepatch - the blocks are colorful and I would look for something that makes them pop! Perhaps a turquoise, red, or black? I think you need a good contrast between the white and the sashing. Look for a color or pattern that picks up those in the blocks. You will know when you have the right combo Please post your final selection.

IMHO This is what I would do too. It is what you like that counts!

After looking at others responses I guess I am the odd ball but my first reaction was GREAT! The muted colors add texture and put the emphasis on your blocks which are great the two in the middle look like they have been folded open and I would try to continue that in your rows. You have a very interesting quilt going and I look forward to seeing it finished with however you decide. I guess I like the unusual and unpredictable.

I love the blocks, where did you buy the lotteria blocks ? I sure would love to make my sister one as she is always play this game back home in Texas.

As for your color scheme, ( background fabric ) I myself love it, however, you might do a narrow border around each block in a dark solid color.

I don't know why that granite doesn't go, but I just don't think it does. If I were doing this, I would find find a red like the one each of the characters is wearing. The fabric you are auditioning will be terrific in some other quilt sometime. froggyintexas
