    now that I have used Pearle cotton, I prefer that. But, I have tied with embroidery floss as well, still holding strong

    I use floss because quilts that I tie are scrappy, and I use a color of floss that matches each "scrap" You can hardly see the ties that way. I have LOTS of floss!

    If having the knot on the top, how long do you leave the tails?

    I think it depends on the quilt and what looks good. On baby quilts, I try to cut them short. On some of the others, I like the look when they are longer
