Neat! So far, I've not had any luck sewing with vinyl.

I'm making 6 (maybe more) table runners for a silent auction at our parish's Lenten fish fries. 4 fleece things that I call after bath cover-ups for a better name. Two for the silent auction, and two for my 2 1/2 Y.O. GD. The shoulders are based on a dress pattern. Straight edges and a rolled collar. Good for after the bath or for curling up on the couch. Oh, and two rag quilts for the auction. One is bright yellow with cars mixed with license plate fabric. The other is chocolate cakes and cupcakes. How long until March 7th???????????????????

As for what I'm working on - I have a pile of black and white scraps I'm trying to figure out what to do with. I think I'm going about it backwards though - I thought I would cut first then decide what to make, but now I can't decide how I want to cut. I'm giving myself a headache!

With Mic-Keys you can buy these special pads that go between the button and the skin because some folks have a little leakage or sensitivity to the button itself. You can buy some for ridiculous amounts of money (cause they are a medical item) or make them yourself.

I cut out circles of heavy nappy flannel, cotton terry, and either a good wicking fleece or another layer of flannel. It becomes an fuzzy sandwich where the terry absorbs the leaky and keeps it away from the skin. Then you cut a slit into the middle and make a small diameter hole where the Mic-key goes into the belly. Then sew sandwich together and put a button or snap on the outer diameter to keep it between skin and Mic-key. Washable, soft, and in fabrics that are fun. Some folks sell under the brand tubie whoobies, my button buddies, etc.

We started making like a 7-pack for parents to go home with after the surgery, but the manufacturer asked us to stop because they started marketing their own type of pad. Now i just make them and give them to mommies if they contact me.

PM me with your email for detailed instructions.

Just finished a charity quilt (all purples) for our church to raffle, have 9 of the 12 very complex (one has 185 pc!) of a quilt challenge class done, and just got two Vet's charity quilts off the long arm. Have a LQS BOM in process, too. Wonder if I wasn't so "fragmented", if I'd get more done??

I'm working on Orca Bay. It's a mystery quilt by Bonnie Hunter. I started it a couple of years ago (maybe more). I had several steps done and everything cut. So there's one UFO that's getting some attention.

I'm working on what to work on I have never quilted before and really don't know where to start. I need an easy pattern that won't take a lot of different fabrics. I'm feeling a little nervous about taking that first step, but I will manage to overcome.
