Are industrial ones bigger? Available at Sam's Club? It seems to me the thinnest ones would be best if they are to be left in a quilt. Anybody with input about where the wimpiest ones are sold and brand names, please let us know. They are very similar to non-woven interfacing, and the circle shape is a big plus for some things.

I have used coffee filters as a base for sewing strips, but I first cut the filter into a square. Worked very well..... DUH! Never thought of leaving it in circle shape...

Yes - the industrial filters are about twice the size. Available at restaurant supply outlets (here, Smart & Final) and they are cheap! I can't wait to go home and try them out.

I'll post a pic of a scrappy round mug rug as soon as I get one finished. (This day job certainly gets in the way of my quilting.... :) )

But it helps you pay for the fabric you love

I have used coffee filters for years when I paint for drybrushing technique. There is no lint when you use a coffee filter! I don't drink coffee but keep filters around all the time. However had never thought of them for foundation piecing! Especially leaving in a circle! How cool!
