I have the brother 1500 that I use for fmq. For some reason I cannot remember how the fmq foot is suppose to fit on the machine. Manual is no help, it just says use the foot for fmq.

I cannot get the needle bar to fit over the darn needle. Does the foot go up and down or stay in place? I swear I cannot remember this! I'm so frustrated with myself.

Does this foot have a round opening.. I switched out my bother foot for a juki and you do use the lever to lift it and when it is in the down position it will hop. there is a bar part that sits over the top of the needle screw and when the needle goes up it pulls the foot up.. so it hops.. does this help?? I can take a picture if you need it?

Ok that's what I thought but for some reason the foot will not fit so the bar will sit over the top of the needle screw! It's driving me nuts. LOL

The only thing I can think of is it's not sitting right.. Raise the presser foot leaver and try to put it on. I just looked at mine and it raises really high when the presser foot is up..

Are you talking about the FMQ foot or the walking foot? Here is a pic of my FMQ foot on my Brother 1500S...I remove the screw (not the needle screw) and put the foot on from the back...The needle screw doesn't come into play...

Heck, I wish this picture was clearer....

My FMQ foot does not have a bar that goes over the needle screw but my walking foot does.

Exactly. The walking foot does, but not the FMQ foot.

HEY BELLABOO - In reply to your question "What happened to my brain?" - I need to say I think it's running around in la-la-la land with my brain!
