What about keeping them as dresses, but cutting them across the top, putting straps on them, and making them into dresses hanging on a clothesline?

I'm with you on not caring for SBS much or Amish dolls. I like faces!

zozee, I like this idea. You could also do the "clothes line" in a Z like the pennat(sp) pattern I have seen.

I too am not overly fond of sbs, but have to say the Abbey Road block I made is an exception, that one I really liked.

Could they be the main part of a pieced tulip block, with different soft solids in the center?

hugs,

Please dont tell me these were Sunbonnet Sue dresses.... YUCK. I will not be making a sunbonnet sue quilt. Worse come to worse I can cut as big a triangle from them and do whatever I want with them. But first I wanted to float the question in case someone recognizes the shape and can tell me what quilt they were cut for. (I'm afraid it might be Sunbonnet Sue... ).

I love the fabrics. Some are feedsacks but some also look like late 50's, early 60's, so that's probably when these were cut. I want to make some sort of small wall hanging just to be able to look at the prints.

Thanks!
