I have had this machine (the Brother Nouvelle 1500S) for years and they keep making new ones just like it because there is no other machine that works like it works. I can't think of anything I would do to improve it. It has a large harp space and all kinds of features for FMQ. It is a real workhorse and I also do all my piecing on it. A wonderful machine. Would not trade it for any other. I have had it for at least 15 years, probably closer to 20, and just take it in for servicing every two years or so. Love it for FMQ.

My Janome 6600 does a nice job. I've FMQ'd a 120" square king size quilt in that thing....wasn't "fun" in the middle, but I did it!

There are 2 that I use. A Pfaff Quilt Expression 4.2 and Bernina 1031.

Before I purchased my Handiquilter Sweet Sixteen, I used my Bernina Activa and Bernina 440. I do not like the BSR, so don't use that.

I love my Singer 401A as my first choice but have used my Brother SQ 9000 and it does a good job for me also.

I use my Singer Confidence Quilter, is that a good name for a machine or what? I bought a FMQ foot made for the Singer late last year and it has made all the difference in the world. Of course as I keep doing it I'm getting better and loving it all the more as you can do some beautiful quilting.
