    That's the same one I was going to recommend. It is really easy, but looks hard.

    rail fence is quik i made one for my cousins baby in three days and quilted it in that time as well. and i had a baby off my own at home and i had just started quilting that was my first FMQ project.

    A Zig Zag quilt is very easy, and you can use small amounts of lots of different really cute baby fabrics.

    Oooh. I really like those pinwheels. Heading to the fabric shop today - want a pale pink and white small check along with a solid. Maybe a bright pink also (Mom hasn't decided on which pink she wants for layette). Thanks everyone for all the good ideas.

    Pinwheels are not difficult but can be a little time consuming- I recently did a Baby quilt with them that had a scrappy border which I loved when it was completed:

    you can always make them a little bigger and just do rows of them. it'd still be pretty that way

    I like an alternating 4-patch with the plain squares being the focus fabric and chosing 2 of the colors in there to work with white for the 4-patches.
