Expecting our 4th Grandaughter in January. Is there a particular pattern (i.e. pinwheels, 9 patch, etc) that is quick for a baby quilt? The shower is 19 Nov and would like to have it done by then.

Sounds like you're on the right track. D9p is another good one.

I do this pattern when I want a really quick quilt. Selection of fabric makes it interesting. Very easy to piece.

pieces are 3x5.5

I've only made this one once so far but it's easy and pleasing and would show off those novelty fabrics very well. Here's the tutorial:

I just recommended this to someone else for a baby quilt. Warm Wishes from Quiltmaker is great and goes together really fast. You can find the pattern free at the Quiltmaker website.

congradulations! i did 2 baby quilts for my hope chest and finished both in a few days.

this one is kind of like the one that Holice posted above, but with 3 stripes instead of 2

this one is a four patch with a double stripe(?) between them

Did you see the baby quilts that CircleSquare put up yesterday? The title of the post is "Simple Baby Quilts By Three" Later posts give the makers name and where to get the pattern. I thinks it's neat to get three quilts out of 3 different 1 yard cuts.

Disappearing 9 Patch has my vote as well. Quick and easy, but look great!
