All i really want is a bigger cutting mat and a longer ruler, have made my wishes known to my family so we shall see if the follow my lead........it would be great if they did

It is called a "slotted ruler", I love mine. Last year I wanted an accuquilt and the family got me one with lots of dies. I tried it, and somehow I just don't feel comfortable with it yet. It is on my things to master for 2012.

DH can be dense, can't they. This is why I started this thread, a quilter's gift list. Print it out and leave it around the house, highlighting items that may be a great gift. Staple store/site names, and directions to the store and the aisle. It works.
Mine is loveable, generous to a fault, drives me crazy at times with his quirks, but he accepts me for who I am. Married 45 years this past July.

Electric blade sharpener (based on the review PatriceJ gave hers). I like gadgets but there are some I'm too cheap to buy for myself that I would enjoy if I had it.

There is a used Huskqvarna sewing machine at JoAnn's I've been dreaming of, but not with our finances, so I'd be happy with an ironing sack. It's like a pillow you can iron on or even one of those cut on one side/iron on the other things. Right now, I'm using a towel on the counter top to iron on. It's that or go outside every time I want to iron something so we can get to the bathroom! LOL!! My sewing really crimps our style in the motorhome! :-)
