What is the strangest fabric you have used to make a quilt?

I made my own wedding dress, in the 70's and being frugal and all. So I had fabric left from it, and for a while, I put a piece of it in every quilt top I made, trying to start some sort of 'tradition'. But eventually, I lost interest in the idea and gave it up. Also, after a move or two, I lost the fabric. Weird, huh? (It was satin of some sort, but it was washable, although it did need to be ironed after washing.)

A piece of old tights (panty hose, I think in the US) - like amma, it was for an art quilt. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-75461-1.htm the black part in the second pic...
