I finished sewing the binding on a double slice quilt. Then I started sewing on 3-1/2" strips to 6-1/2" strips. The 2nd step to making a double slice quilt. I have 4 cut out to make 4 red, white and blue quilts. I decided it was time to use up some fabrics I had pieces left from previous quilts.
I stopped and decided I would get caught up on FB and here.

For 2 days I have been cutting and sewing pocket tissue holders from Christmas fabric scraps. My goal is 100 -- a few are for my sister to give her co-workers at Christmas, but most of them are for my mother to give as party favors during a Christmas tea sponsored by her floor of the senior apartment complex where she lives. I just want to get them all cut, so that I can clear and put away the Christmas fabrics.

Tomorrow I am expecting to get a quilt that I will be binding. A friend and I are making it for a mission fundraiser to support a village our congregation sponsors in Africa. Once it is in my hands, I want to finish it up as soon as possible!

Working on my granddaughters wedding quilt. She wants it done in sunset colors. Oranges, yellows and rust.
Should have had it done by now, but I was rather slow in recovering from spinal fusion surgery. Am ready to get at it now.

I fixed a fence and herded four of five horses back in, then worked on Sarah Janey's big girl quilt that I promised a year ago. Later, the fifth horse showed up in the corner of my yard, looking over the fence for her maties, so I went out and started down the hill and just called her name..I could hear her clomping behind me, I got the gate open and she rushed through, all excited to find the others. Then back to the quilt top. Two more borders and then to sandwich it and get the quilting done.

I finished the 6th baby charity quilt in over a week --all from my stash , all with teddy bear fabric. Now that all fabrics were sorted and much to give away it was easier to work as I made kits for these quilts as I was sorting.
Some go to the Food Bank others to our local Pregnancy Center.
Doing all these so I can eventually do the quilts and pieces that I want for myself with special choice fabrics.

Last night I sandwiched a charity quilt for Ronald McDonald House in New Orleans. Today I am going to quilt it. I made the binding last night so as soon as I get it quilted, slap the binding on, and start looking for the next project. Last November I donated 10 quilts and 22 pillow cases. In May I sent over 10 quilts. I finished the last 5 lap robes for the nursing home our guild helps. That is my 10 for this year. I certainly have enough material to find something that peaks my interest. I just need to decide what looks good. It is so hot and humid today no one including the dogs want to go outside. Another good day to sew!!
