My ornament came out okay. The second one is going so much easier. I learned alot from the first one. Sorry I can't show you a pic. I want a camera, but it has to wait until my birthday. My bath is in sea shells, too. My oldest is a marine biologist and I try to get him to send me shells, but he is slower than I like. There are just too many different kinds. He is going to Thailand, India and to Greece on a Chinese junk type boat. www.rvheraclitus.org Maybe then I'll get some shells. In the meanwhile, I can embroider!

Very, very nice Barb. I really like the labels too, the Bible Verses are great and I love the KJ version. How long have you been working on them? I am using black for the backs of three of my quilts so I really checked out your backs that were on the black tones. The ones I am making seem to be taking forever.

I put labels with verses on all my quilts.

These tops have been done a while... they went together quickly... and then that sat waiting for me to take them to the long arm quilter. They are all 3 the Yellow Brick Road pattern (with some adaptions from me.. I rarely follow patterns or instructions exactly). YBR is fun and very quick.

I loved your quilts and your quilt labels with the bible verses. You do beautiful, creative work.

I REALLY LOVED your photographs. I take hundreds of photos a month but I'm not artistically talented, naturally so when I see the work of someone who is I realize I don't "see" things as an artist sees them. How many times have I looked in water to see reflections but never snapped the picture because it didn't occur to me. Keep on doing your photo's they are spectacular. Don't forget to keep on sewing, either. Happy holidays! Randy

Randy -- those are my daughter's photographs. She loves photography! We are a HSing family and when she graduated highschool in May, each student had a display with things about them after the graduation ceremony. My dd covered one side of her display with her photographs. She is very talented... with a great eye.

I'm so excited I found yall! I've just recently re-started quilting. I'm making table runners for presents this year and they've turned out beautifully. My sister-in-law has turned me into a serious quilter this time around. I have so much more to learn and I'm sure I can find lots of my answers on the Quilting Board

Hi All:
Yes, I know Christmas is over but my friend sent me a Christmas card that she made using the Dresden Plate quilt pattern. It's darling so I wanted to share it with you guys...I may make ALL of my Christmas cards next year! I have all year to work on them.

I have attached a picture of the card my friend gave me...the predominately green Dresden. I made the one with white blades that isn't very impressive. Between gift wrapping, fixing dinner and doing Christmas cookie plates, I made the other one and learned something...if using white card stock DO NOT USE white fabric for any of the Dresden Plate blades!

TO MAKE the Dresden Plate pieces are:
2 inches long by 1 1/8 inch wide at the top of the blade by 5/8ths of an inch at the small end of the blade.

With right sides together, fold the wide end of the blade in half and Sew a scant 1/8 inch seam across the top of the wide end of the blade. Turn the blade right side out and press so you have a blade with a pointed top. Make 12 blades and sew them together in a circle.

Cut 2 circular pieces of fabric 1 7/8 inches in diameter. With right sides together, sew the 2 circles around the outside edge with a scant 1/8 inch seam allowance. Snip a hole in the center of ONLY ONE CIRCLE then turn the circle right side out. Set aside until ready to use.

AFter all the Dresden Plate fans are sewn together in a circle smear fabric glue on back and attache the plate to the card stock. On the side of the CIRCLE with the hole where you turned the circle right side out, smear glue and affix it to the center of your Dresden Plate. Voila, you now have your card finished.

I used my computer to write my card message on the inside of the card BEFORE I glued the Dresden Plate to the card. The card is simple and very cute but remember, It's probably not a good idea to use the white fabric like I used as the pattern "gets lost" against white card stock.

Okay, Randy, that is just the cutest idea. I love it, but was hoping to be rid of holiday stuff for awhile. :lol: I hope you will also keep that in a folder on your computer to submit again, because I do not trust my memory. :lol: Thanks for sharing as it is definately a keeper. :D
