Default What is your favorite new quilting gadget, tool, or notion?

I am hosting a gadget table at guild and need some ideas of what is new. Most of mine are older and well known. The newest items I have are the wool pressing mat, and new mister bottle. Any new items out there I have missed?

The wool pressing mat I love. BUT what makes it great is the small SteamFast iron I use with the mat. I have a bad back and now I can just swivel my chair and use the iron on the mat and not have to stand to iron.. the iron gets very hot if needed. I love it.

I think my friend has some of those rulers. I'll ask to borrow them. I have the wool mat on my list and I have the Steam Fast iron too. I'll use it to demo the wool mat using steam with the wood clapper. Oldie made new again with then new style ironing mat. Thanks!

I don't know how new they are, but I've fairly recently discovered the Strip Sticks for pressing seams. I also love the clear 3M Safety-Walk shower tread for keeping rulers from slipping.

Found RUST-OLEUM AntiSlip spray at my hardware store and love it! With hand and wrist issues the simple non-slip they put on the back of rulers just didn't work. You can still move it to line up your markings on your fabric. Just a small amount of pressure holds it in place. I have sprayed 50+ rulers and could probably spray another 50, so one can goes a long way!!! I spray the back VERY LIGHTLY and it dries in about 5-15 minutes (depending on humidity in your area). It does frost the ruler so LIGHTLY is the key word! Have tried on all brands of rulers I own and all worked great.

I too love, love, love my wool mat. I've been paper piecing and this mat makes it so easy.
