My initial response was piecing - but thinking about my overflowing stash I think it must be shopping for fabric.

I love pulling fabrics and putting a collection together for a quilt. I enjoy all the rest of it too, but the fabric selection is the most creative part, to me.

All of it ! I get a lot of satisfaction when nested seams nest as they are supposed to, and I also like finishing ufo's.

Everything from deciding which fabric to the last stitch but best of all is giving the finished quilt, to someone I care about or delivering an armload to the co ordinator of Project Love & Care or Linus or Salvation Army. Knowing my quilts will keep a small child warm & comforted gives me a warm glow.

I enjoy the whole quilting process, but I admit that I really, really hate sandwiching quilts; however after the quilts are sandwiched, I do enjoy the machine quilting. Although I think part of my problem with sandwiching quilts is that I really do not have a table large enough to hold the quilt so that I can pin baste it; and there is absolutely no way that I could lay the quilt out on the floor, as I just cannot get up once I get down. LOL. I will say that I do love finding a pattern, finding the perfect fabrics and then making the quilt top.

Evidently my favorite part is buying the fabric (witness my stash) and piecing (witness my stack of UFOs). I am trying to get motivated to finish up a lot of these, I work better on a deadline so am looking for an ending time!!

I love the whole process, designing and then looking for the perfect fabrics to carry off my design. Then as I piece seeing that design come to life. The hardest is quilting since I only have my DM and large quilts are hard on the body moving them around through the machine. However I have a very difficult time with communicating what I want done in quilting and then releasing it to someone else to quilt. This is the area I am still working on.

I enjoy putting the binding on. Then I know it's done to my liking.
