Designing, piecing and binding! I don't like the sandwiching or quilting part. Thank goodness my quilt guild accepts just tops for charity quilts and has someone with a longarm quilt them. Then I can get them back and do the binding if I want!

I love the designing and putting the colors together. If I use someone else's pattern I always change it so it is not exactly like the pattern, so I always have one of a kind quilt. Even before I get through hand quilting a quilt I am designing another one in my "mind" and I get ideas not only here on the board but in nature too.

Right now, I HATE cutting. That's because each piece has to be ironed first and I am having to cut on a table that is too low. Back is killing me!

I like planning, piecing, but don't like basting/pinning the sandwich, partly because I don't have enough space.

My very favorite part is putting the sandwich in a hoop and putting in that first quilt stitch and then smoothing my hand over a finished section. Something so special to me about hand quilting.

Miss M, I'm with you. I love the planning and piecing. I have an E-5 for my computer, but find myyself drawn to graph paper and colored pencils.

Me....I love piecing the tops....I just love seeing the colors go together and the shapes take form.....like putting a puzzle together. I can just do this over and over and over. Gee, if I did this, I could have a never ending stack of UFOs. But it's like an addiction even while I am finishing a project I find myself day dreaming and my mind wandering on over to a new project.

Anyone else have that problem....or am I bi-polar, tee hee. :-D
I think I am what is laughingly known as a "topper". I don't like quilting. Maybe because I don't have the equipment( longarm or whatever) to work with. Binding I have no trouble with either. Now all I need is money to pay to have my quilting done. I have a box full of UFOs for that reason.............

I know few others actually like it, but I even enjoy binding. I really have a ball with every step, since it's one phase closer to the finish and helps me feel like I've accomplished something - even before the whole thing is done.

I Love seeing the whole thing done & admire the finished project! But, I love the sewing part the best of the process--piecing it together & seeing how it works together. Terrified of the quilting part, so afraid I'll muck it up. Don't mind the cutting part, find it's actually fun, but I haven't done any complicated patterns, just straight strips & blocks. :-)

I like everything, except cutting. I think it is boring
