I think now a days my strong point is that I'm not afraid to try something new. So far I've gone out of my comfort zone with curves,......drunkards path, tiny pieces.....Elizabeth Hartman's dino pattern, cathedral windows, just plain too big and aweward but I finished it. My next goal is this quilt pattern called Cog Wheels with lots of strange shapes from what I can tell. Years ago I tried paper piecing and I didn't try a small piece but Jenny Beyer's Crystal Star pattern and that turned me to love paper piecing.

I feel like I'm fairly good at math (for the quilting world). That could be because I'm married to a math whiz and have picked up a few things in the last 40 years.
I like color and playing with color. Much more than I like doing fussy patterns. I'm not sure how good I am at it. But others seem to think my color sense is good (if a bit odd). My house is sort of that way, too!

My strong points: Coordinating fabrics for a project. Buying fabric (lol). Hand quilting.
My weak points- designing. If patterns didn't exist I would not be a quilter. Math. Piecing wrong (upside down, backwards, etc)
But after all these years quilting is still my passion!

I guess I'm strongest when it comes to childrens quilts because they make me happy. Bright happy quilts, both in purchased selected patterns and totally scrappy ones. I go ahead and purchase every template that I will need for a quilt as my quilts turn out best that way...now I probably own every one! Terrible at just "winging" a design as they never turn out right.

I work slowly as I take time to press and cool under the clapper each seam. My blocks finish the intended size and all the seams are flat.

In my little quilting group, I'm known for the speed at which I can hand sew a binding. I actually enjoy doing it, believe it or not. (I don't like doing them on the machine, and have never mastered that.)
I'm pretty good using rulers with my longarm, and coming up with designs for that.
