I think Mimi is a wonderful name. My sister passed away almost two years ago, but she was known and loved by her nickname Mimi. My nephew Mike couldn't say Mary Ann, so she became Mimi and it stuck. I would like my granddaughter Zoe to call me Mimi or Grams, however, since she's only 14 months old, she's not talking yet. We'll see what she wants to call me in a few more months.

I made a kingsize scrap quilt (mile a min) and thought how crazy it was and I was 56 when I signed up here so crazyquilter 56......my friend taught me it was so fast I loved it you made so many squares at the same time not just one at a time. I love scrappy quilts I hate to throw any fabric away or waste it. I do give some to my daughter in law for school cause I can't keep everything any more.

When my younger brother was learning to talk, he couldn't say Laurie, so started calling me Nonie, and it became my childhood nickname. I tried to use nonie for my screen name on a lot of internet sites, but often it was taken...one time a site prompted me add my favorite hobby to the name....thus quiltingnonie. (And since have never had a problem with that name being taken!)

My nieces and nephews couldn't say Maria when they were little so I became Auntie Ria. My last name is Jarvis and I was born in 1963 hence riaj63. Now all my great nieces and nephews call me Auntie Ria. Maybe I'll be Grandma Ria when my daughter has babies. :)
