1) :shock:
2) I didn't know you could pull the bobbin thread to the top on the ending pieces. I do it on the starting ones, but didn't know I could just poke it and the end piece would pop up so nicely

I start out and end with a stitch length of about .5 or as small as you can get without "0" for about 1/4". If you've ever had to try to pick those out, you know they aren't easy to get out, so will be secure. You won't have to tie off and bury them.

The class I went to with Paula (the one who does all of Alex Anderson's quilts) taught us to just start at about .5 and take 3 or 4 stitches at the beginning and the end. I didn't know about the rethreading and pulling it into the batting. I guess you can go either way...don't know what the quilting police say...not sure I care either... :wink:
