I totally agree with not ripping, especially the photo fabric...been there done that and had to applique a new picture in. The photo fabric does not "bounce back" like regular fabric and you can always see where you stitched last.

So now I know what to do with the razor thanks to DHM, I sure know what to do with a jug of margaritas, what is the emery board for???

If your Mom or Grandma made you one would you really care that the points didn't line up? If your son loves you half as much as you love him, he'll sleep warm and snug under it

I would let it be perfectly imperfect -- he will likely not notice and it will still represent your love.

Lol. When you're done with the razor and there's little bits of thread sticking out of your fabric, run the emery board across it, it will pull all the threads off.

I think the blocks are lovely and that you made a great decision. I'm another one who sometimes deliberately floats points. A point which misses a seam, either slightly or alot, looks fine, whereas one which gets cut off by being sewn into a seam doesn't look as nice to me. The quilt is going to be gorgeous, well loved, and keeping him warm. Just what a quilt should do. Great job!

Personally I don't beleive in ripping, just "SEW ON" its just a design change.

I'm not a professional quilter, and may be missing something, but I don't see a problem. I think it's beautiful! I'd have to agree with the majority here and say don't rip....keep going.

I just finished a complex pieced border on Bonnie Hunter's Virginia Bound and photographed it last week. Yesterday, while showing it to a friend, I saw that one whole big block is twisted all around. I am leaving it and sharing the funny story when asked.

I am not entering a show but making quilts for fun and love.
