I like 1 and 2. The red would make it more Christmasy. As for the border, in my opinion, it depends how big you want it.

I think on #1 skip the first and last white borders, #2 Black border around center, than red border, squares, red border and Black binding, #3 a different green and skip the same white borders as #1, just my opinion
