I got our sheets at Target but we really had to search for the singles.

I get my cotton sheets and cotton blankets from my sister in law who works at a hotel. The hotels have to change sheets every few months and they are all in good shape. I found out that the hotels send the sheets to the Good Will as they are in good shape and usable.

In Canada, I can find single sheets, cotton or flannel for less than $10 for a King sized sheet. I can get them at Giant Tiger (a small town department store) Sears, Winner's (name brand, discount, clear outs) Wal-mart (have to be careful that they aren't loose weave)and Len's Mills (discount, clear-outs). I can't get what I want every time but will stock up when I find what I want.Recently the whole bin at Giant Tiger was on for $5 any size. I bought twenty. I like darker colours or patterned sheets and never buy white as it just doesn't suit the quilts I make. I also buy for my guild and we get a lot of requests for guy quilts which seem to need blue, black, green or maroon backs.

I bought a flannel sheet set at the Salvation Army for $2.00 earlier this week. I was going to use it for a quilt back, but when it was washed, I decided to just keep if for our bed! LOL!! It is a nice sheet set and very good quality.

Are you buying sheet sets, or can you find just the flat sheets. I keep thinking that I will waste fabric (and money) on a sheet set.[/quote]
I buy just flats, usually, but if a set at a garage sale, just cut the elastic off and square it up to use as a back on a smaller quilt, or add a border.
