This seems like the best price to me for the amount of paper, in a roll even. WOW

I reccomend Vilene instead. No tearing away after sewing. Just wash or dip in water and it instantly desolves. 1 yd (36"X60" - $7.00)

I just walked over to a local paper supply store and got two reams (1000 sheets) of UV/Ultra II translucent paper
White, 8.5M Weight, Smooth, for my paper piecing projects. Regular copy paper just is not good enough.

I just printed out a sheet and it ran thru my home machine beautifully and it is so easy to see thru and stable.

Regular price around $33 per 500 sheets and Arvey Paper in Indianapolis has it until the end of the month for approx. $ 23. The product number since there are different weights is 01379 and I think it is Neeman Paper. Very tiny print.

Can you get Grease proof paper in the States? it's used for cooking or baking and is usually sold on a roll over here in England, and is like tracing paper but better, or Baking parchment, either would be ideal,
Good luck in your quest,

The rolls of 8lb tracing paper at Dick Blick start at 3.99 for 12"x20yds and go up to 14.54 for 36"x50yds.

Yes, I believe it's called wax paper here.

Charlie, I don't think it's Wax Paper...that wouldn't work for paper piecing. I think she is talking about cooking parchment paper.

I use a vellum from an office supply. Bought a reem (500) sheet box several years ago for about $10.00. The sheets are 8 1/2 x 11 and were on closeout I think for wedding invitations. Anyway it works great for paper piecing since I can print the block on the printer and they tear away very easily. Hope this helps.

If it's a big project, I would probably save $$ and go with the copy paper :)
