This group is the bee's knees. I loved your quilt and the great helping hands here on the board.

I agree with everyone on here that it is a partial log cabin and it is the gradation of the colors of fabric that makes it look 3D. You will find out that everyone on this board is so helpful. I see that "Barb in Louisiana" has drawn it out for you. Members here are wonderful. Good luck on your new quilt you are planning on making for your son.

Oops! didn't scroll down far enough before I wrote a comment. Wow! you are fast--you have your quilt top done already and it turned out beautiful. Lucky son to receive this gift of love made by Mom.

The quilt is so 3D that it almost made me feel sick to my stomach. Definitely a good quilt for your son! He'll think it's so cool!

I am working on Eleanor Burns pattern called Lovers Knot and that is exactly how the blocks are made. But of coarse they are arranged differently in her quilt. So maybe if you go to her site you could see the pattern.

Pamela....your quilt is wonderful. I am glad that I could help a little bit with it. You did an outstanding job. I know your son will love it.
