Thanks cricket, when I took it to my friend she went through it and it is perfect. She is very knowledgable in Featherweight machines. I have spoken with others that say the "whites" just don't sound like the black ones. She oiled everything and gave it her midas touch then my husband went through my other featherweights and a tune up and they are awesome too!!!

I think sounds are different to everyone. What I call a
clicky sound may sound alike a clatter sound to someone else. There are at least 9 Featherweights going at my guild workshops and they all have a different sewing sound. Featherweights seem to each have their own voice. I haven't named mine yet. Can't think of a name that fits her right now.

If you read your book, it will state where to lube it as well as oil locations....

Well, this is almost a year old, but I thought I'd put in my 2-bits. My late-1970's vintage Bernina made clicking sounds when I unknowingly put a Singer needle in it, which I read later is a big no-no for the Berninas. It may be that the a change of needle would get rid of the click for you. Maybe the needle was slightly bent or not all the way up in the shaft. I read somewhere that when working with thick materials some quilters lower the needle slightly. I've never tried it, and it seems it could have bad repercussions if it hits something in there that it's not supposed to hit. The click of metal on metal might be normal, but if it isn't, something could be taking a bit of abuse.
