Since my favorite palettes are autumn colors and brights, black is one of my favorite complement colors. It just makes things POP!

Very interesting idea. Never thought about a bargello with black in it. Many of my quilts have black in them, I love how it makes the colours pop. Hope it dosen't fade too much though. LOL

I have 2 quilts to begin soon and they require black - which fabric line works the best? I have not worked with
black before (okay I have only done one quilt so far but have 3 more ready to cut)

I'm a blue lover too, actually pastels are my favs. But I just made a black quilt (I made it into a picture wallhanging); I've admired that quilt for a long time. So I had a bunch of black left over from another project & grabbed some scraps that I had enough of to make it...I don't usually make black quilts, but I love this one. I do add black to my quilts sometimes, when I feel it's needed. Here's a pic of the black wallhanging.

LOL I had to laugh because I always comment on her to my hubby if I ever had to start all over again I want to be just like her LOL

And yes I use a lot of black in my quilts as well but I also use a lot of greens and browns mostly because I do a lot of manly quilts. Bright colors are hard for me to buy, don't know why but every time I go looking for the brights I always come home with mostly darks.

I love black in quilts. I am finishing an original sampler quilt with 12 floral blocks with a butterfly quilted in gold thread in alternating block; the background is black. I think it will be stunning when I finally get if finished.

You are the perfect person to answer my question. What company makes the most colofast black? I have a pattern I want to do in black but very afraid of the fading.
