Yes, I do that too. I think sometimes I'm just too frugal! LOL! I try not to waste & pay for it in aggravation.

Am I the only one that does this?

Frugal ladies, you should try flipping the blade. I do and it works, most of the time cuts like new and I get twice as much mileage out of them before I need to retire them. Now mind you, flipping it can be a dicey proposition but knock on wood,I still have all my fingers. I am on a very tight budget so for me, flipping is the only way to go!!!

Every time I finally break down and change the blade , I ask myself ... why did I wait so long!!??!!! I know I am damaging the mat by using a less than really sharp blade , but I just can 't seem to make myself change more often.... I keep saying "just one more cut.. then I'll change it".

Me too, I think we don't want to take the time, sometimes I think it is the mat and not the wheel.

I know I dont change mine as often as I should but, think about how hard we push on these dull blades and how much damage would be done on our fingers if it was to ever happen!

I agree. I mark on the rotary cutter with a label the date I changed the blade. It also seems I hit the corner of the acrylic ruler RIGHT AFTER I PUT A NEW BLADE IN !!!
