I have made quilts with charm packs, layer cakes, and jellyrolls. The charm pack is great for the D9P and I got two quilts out of a jelly roll and layer cake by watching of of Missouri Star Quilts's tutorials. Their tuorials are the reason I started using pre cuts. I love their tuts and their shop. Jennie can sell me anything when I watch her. The girls are good too.

When I first saw them, I thought they may be a cheap way of getting many different fabrics without having to buy the minimum width. I have not done the proper math on them yet, as the jelly rolls here are $80, with some cheaper brands being around $35 -$50. That means I would have to have a specific project in mind that required lots of strips before I would get one.
I did see a video from the Missouri Quilt Co that showed a simple way of making an Amish star using the jelly roll, and that has interested me.

Yes I have. It took awhile - I seemed to collect them for awhile before diving into them. I make my version of a disappearing 4 patch. I have found jelly rolls of matching colors which I have used for sashing and corner stones.

I adore jelly rolls. I have two books of jelly roll and layer cake quilts, have made two of them. They are great for quick quilts.

This is from a jelly roll that I bought the coordinating border fabric for. If I remember right the body of the quilt only took 3 days to make.

Mimi, I love the machine in your avatar. Is it an early model 15?

Not me. I have never bought a jelly roll and only buy charm packs if they are dirt cheap and on clearance.
