I’m getting to be known for my regular baby shower gift. I get 1 yard each of coordinating flannel, place them right sides together, and cut off enough to roughly square it, but be sure to have enough for 2 burp cloths. Birth these, then top stitch with a decorative stitch. Of course now I have the Go! Dies for the burp cloth and bib, so people will get a bib and a burp cloth now instead of 2 burp cloths. I love my decorative stitches. I also use them for machine binding.

I have Bernina 880 Plus. The zigzag size is 9mm. I used a decorative stitch to do a narrow border on a wall hanging. I took it slow and used the walking foot to keep the layers feeding evenly.

Default mug rugs are fun to use decorative stitches!

I was reading about Tula’s Bernina 770 with the extra decorative stitches and I’m thinking, “who is using these?!” I’d love to know everyone’s thoughts. And photos if you have...
I like to use my decorative stitches on small projects like a mug rug or pot holder.

I just remembered that I took a class a couple of years ago at which one used as many of one's decorative stitches as one could. I took my sample from the class and used it to make a mini bow tuck purse. I think I sold that last year.

I never use them. I went looking for a newer machine, old machine is dying, with just basic stitches and what do you know, couldn't find one with a large harp. Bought a machine that met my other requirements and have used one specialty stitch to repair a garment for someone. Not a good return on investment.

I've been watching Jacquie Gering's video on machine quilting with a walking foot. She has some awesome designs using decorative stitches.
My new Bernina 770 QE didn't come with a walking foot so I need to get one as I'd like to do some of them.
My older Bernina has decorative stitches that I rarely used but I didn't machine quilt with it.

I use the buttonhole stitch all the time for applique. The alphabet is used for labels which sometimes I stitch into the binding. (There was a tutorial on here about that). Other times I use decorative stitches on table runners or placemats.

I will use them from time to time depending on what I am doing. The blanket stitch and the hem stitch are handy from time to time. Other decorative stitches I have used in garment making for my grand daughters. I also did some fancy stitching on a crazy quilt once just to give some pizazz instead of hand embroidery. It worked great.

I use blanket stitch and satin stitch for applique; I try to use other stitches on small items like placemats, etc

I love decorative stitches and have used just about all the ones on my PC420PRW for art quilts, crazy quilts and just playing around with fabric, thread, color and texture. For me, they are well worth the cost.
