Why do you read The Quilting Board?

Me too. I'm frightened of missing out on something. I have done many crafts and had stalls at various craft markets over the years and the only craft people that seem to want to share their knowledge are the patchwork and quilting people. I think the founders of this craft would be pleased to know that their legacy of sharing their knowledge is still carried on today.

I started coming here when I first started quilting, because I needed LOTS of help!!! I had no clue what I was doing, and these folks have been my teachers!! I thank my lucky stars for these boards, and read them often. There are such wonderful folks here, like family and dear friends. I am not too chatty, but I love to read about what every one else is doing, what new gadgets they have found, and seeing the quilts others have done only inspires me more !!

I have learned more on here, in the few months that I have been a member, than I have learned anywhere else. For someone who has been quilting for 30 years, there is probably little that they don't know. But we beginners need those people on here. Plus it's a great place to get quilting ideas and look at all the pretty quilts.

Like I've mentioned earlier, I'm getting back into the quilting little bit by little bit. This board has been a tremendous help to me. I also love to open up my daily e-mail (The QB) I tell my DH. I have downloaded a lot of information from the different links. I asked a friend of mine who is a lifelong quilter, if she was a member. She said she knew all there was to know about quilting. The one day we were talking about a quilting issue and I referred her to a link I had from the QB. "I was not aware" she said. We can just learn so much no matter how long we've been doing something. As they say learn something new everyday. Thank You Quilting Board!

I'm a fairly new quilter so need all the help I can get. I find new ideas for quilts as well as colors that go well. When I find a quilt someone has put up for all to see, if it tweaks my interest I save it into my "Future Quilts" folder to go back to. When I was working on a normal D9P, someone showed us their "on point" version and it made me want to do mine that way. I get lots of great advice, suggestions, sites to check out.
There are a bunch of great, nice folks here and I am always made to feel welcomed even if I ask stupid questions. So I'm so thankful I have this site to come to every morning to read what everyone else is doing. Thanks to all here.

I love this BOARD. I am not smart on this lap top but I can read and learn from all of you, so better and much more fun than all my books. I have finished more quilts here than when in the guild.Someone allways has a tip or a new pattern I have to make. I do not post often but I am here happy and wanting to learn more.THANKS,MIMI
