Oh yeah, mine dings when it is still half full but not a whisper when it is actually empty...I find that out after I've sewn several blocks with no thread in the bobbin and have a pile of unsewn pieces behind my machine.

On my Pfaff 1471 a red light comes on when the bobbin is low. It allows you to stop sewing at a good place like after a seam is finished. It actually lets you sew for quite a little bit more. You learn about how far you can go after the light comes on by experience. I love this feature!

mine is 7570 pfhaff and when it gets low u have a red light that blinks, then i have enough to sew about 15" more inches.

They do...but you can keep on sewing and then you still run out.LOL.

My new Brother stops and tells me when the bobbin is running out. There is about a foot of thread left. So in one way it does "DING"
