Default Will I ever learn?

Yesterday while sewing four patch blocks, I had an idea for a pillow top. Jumped right in making it and everything was going so good. Patchwork looked good, machine cross hatch quilting was acceptable. Then I turned the quilted piece over. In my enthusiam to finish I had forgotten clear everything off the sewing table. Yes, you guessed it, I had added a few unknown squares to the underside of my quilted piece. Left them there and finished putting the zipper in the pillow. It will be a reminder to me to show down and clear the table off!
Anyone else do something like this before?

If it makes you feel any better, I lost my cutting tools, ordered new ones, then found the old ones under fabric.... lol

I have sewn blocks with half square triangles in them, only to discover later that I picked up two triangles from the cut pile and sewed them into the block as if they were one piece. Whatever. I didn't remove it.

Linda, thanks for the memories. In 7th grade twice I put the top of the apron on backwards, and my sewing teacher did it a third time. As a professor doing a demo, I put a sleeve in backwards, too. Good to laugh at ourselves.

I think I've got you beat... Once while quilting through a stack of scrappy tops I had accumulated, I accidentally quilted an extra top in one quilt sandwich. I didn't discover it until the very end of the quilting, so I had to leave it in there.
