two weeks ago i tripped on a rug, fell onto the kitchen floor....i crushed my elbow and last week and had to have a total elbow replacement. my first thought as i fell was, "oh no, i'm supposed to go to the beach this week". my second thought was "oh no...i won't be able to quilt!!!" i have 8 weeks to read, learn, and enjoy vicariously (thru this board) your words and pictures....you will be my quilting lifeline!!! i'm truly am experiencing real withdrawal as i lovingly caress my stash and try to funstion with my left hand! ....woe is me...except for my quilting friends . :)

I'm wishing you a speedy recovery.....Plan to spend some quality time with your patterns and magazines, making notes and planning. Then when your recovery is compete you will be ready to rumble! Hope you mend quickly though I am sure it will not be quickly enough for you. Think "pamper yourself"

    Yikes!

You have a very positive attitude for being just a week out of surgery.

For sure, you'll get lots of inspiration from the board!

Sorry to hear about your accident and hope you make recovery as easy as possible. Just think of the links, tutorials and all the pictures you can download as you progress. You will keep busy here. Glad that you can come and let a few of the hours in the day pass. Reading and napping is good.........lol. Best Wishes for a speedy recovery.

All the best with your recovery. I had both knees replaced. Didn't know they could replace elbows. Bet you are glad they can. Enjoy the board and be well soon.

Wow! I've never even heard of elbow replacements! Knees and hips seem to work well, so I'm sure you'll be back at it soon.

No exactly what you mean. Fell on the stairs and dislocated my elbow last year. Still remember the frustration when even the simplest things take twice as long, if possible at all. But at least we have something good to look forward to. Hope your recovery is swift and problem free. You'll soon be making up for lost time.

    Wishing you a speedy recovery!

I bet you will surprise yourself at how well you will learn to use your other hand/arm to do things when you get desperate enough!

An injury sure makes us more aware of how wonderful it is to among the TABs (Temporarily Able Bodied)

We do take a lot of things for granted, like fastening your bra, pulling up a pair of pants, squeezing toothpaste out of the tube.....You poor thing, but I do know that this board can keep you glued right here and enlightened and entertained for days on end...ask me how I know!!!!LOL
