Around here, donated wool is rare. I’d be tempted to advertise it for sale and use the money for cotton and flannel for your project. My quilts are donated locally.

My grandmother made wool comforters out of old clothing over 100 years ago in Ohio. Those comforters are still in use. Never any problem with bugs. They got a good airing several times a year and that was it.
