I'm rather apprehensive about my upcoming project, but I'm gonna do it anyway. Saw the pattern in a magazine, loved it and that's what I want to do next. But when do we know if we bit off more than we can chew?? This pattern makes me a little nervous.....
When? When you look at the six blocks you've done and throw three of them the heck away.

I have one of those. It's waiting for me to become a better sewer before I tackle it again. Of course, I put that one away and started one with over 900 pieces.

Duh. Fortunately, it is coming along and I will complete this top sometime this century (I got 93 years, right?).

I am sure you will do just fine.

" I am afraid" should definitely be on the list. But I say go for it. :D

The clock from 1973 is surely a WIP since it isn't finished, right? If it isn't done then it must therefore be in progress. :P

At least I know that I'm in the right place when I can say that I'm scared to death!! I know I can always get some support here. This quilt is really important to make and get it done relatively quickly. Will splain more later....

    Thanks Tim...

Hey, I just thought of something. Why isn't the phrase "I quit this *insert swearing* quilt!" not on the list?
You have to rethink your reply. It's not quitting. You are simply waiting until you learn a new technique to finish it. Or better yet, donate it to a friend or charity and pat yourself on the back for starting something so precious for them and being nice enough to let them contribute to the quilt. ;-) ;-)

Yep, like the mantle clock I started building in 1973. I still have it, so it's a WIP, right?

Nice try, but no, lol. After that long it is officially a UFO. You can call it a WIP, but only if you've been working on it over the past few decades.

Patrice, you are wonderful and I love the way your mind works!

because that would make us quitters instead of quilters.

the correct phrase is "I'm sick of fighting with this *insert swearing* quilt. so i'll:
    (a) make it a tablerunner instead
    (b) make it a pillow instead
    (c) put it at the bottom of the UFO pile and work on one of the others instead or (my personal favorite)
    (d) shove it away in a drawer and start a NEW quilt!"

I sure am glad you put (D) on there   That's usually my choice!
