My friend gave me a piece like that and i ended up cutting as many squares as i could, then pieced to make more the balance went into a string quilt. All for charity

I would save it. They could be part of a water color quilt (2 inch squares, or a house, door, window, roof.

I have also hear that scraps make good stuffing for cage quilts for the local animal shelter. That would be putting it uto good use.
