I've made some with stars on them which look festive. I'm new to this forum and haven't worked out how to add photos, but they are on this link: http://www.ludlowquiltandsew.co.uk/S...lace_mats.html

If you go to www.quiltcetera, there is a very easy placemat pattern, using 4 fat quarters & makes 4 mats. You don't even have to bind them.
