I wear a retracable gadget that clips on to my top. The scissors don't dangle and are easy to use.

I just used a length of ribbon. I only use it when I'm hand stitching. I never use it with the sewing machine.

I use my scissors on a lanyard when I am handquilting. I have tried to use them at the sewing machine, but have found it inconvenient to grab and but threads. Would rather just have my scissors at my machinbe in full view to just grab.

That was the method I used, too. ;) It worked for me!

NO --I could get hurt and I hate the sight of my own blood and I firmly believe all stitching should be in fabrics and not in me

I made a "tool" apron with lots of pockets for my scissors, seam ripper, pencil/pen and my 3"x3" ruler, etc. Those are the things that get lost the most when I'm at "it".

In addition to all the concerns stated above about accidently stabbing myself (or worse yet killing myself) I have one other concern. In my old age my skin has become extremely thin and I had to quite wearing jewelry because I couldn't stand the weight hanging around my neck or wrists. The thought of wearing a pair of scissors around my neck freaks me out. Sons have tried to get me to wear my cell phone around my neck, because I keep forgetting where I left it LOL.
