    I've always called this "Boston Block" Maybe someone can find the directions to make four at a time, either all the same or two one way and two the other. It involves sewing two blocks, RST, across on the diagonal both ways.

    Thank you! Thank You! The member of this group have so much knowledge and are always willing to share.

    This block has several names: Boston 8 block; Split quarter Square triangle, y block, and 3 patch quarter square triangle. The links shared are now saved.
    Yes Barb in Louisiana, it was like looking for a needle in a haystack.

    This block, the Boston Block, is what you use to make twisted ribbon and pyramid borders.
