That shade of orange was popular many years ago. There is a book out that shows fabrics of long ago and how to tell how old your piece is. Anyone know the name of it? I have seen it in Paducah. If we knew the title we could tell the story and date of the fabric.

I would love to know the name of that book. Here is a close up of 5 of the flowers. This picture was taken outside in the bright sun and the yellow fabric is much truer in color then the other picture was.

Most of the fabrics are from the 50s. I could see a few from the 40s and a few from the early 60s but most date in the 50s.

If I had to guess I would say the late 70's or early 80's. All the 50's and earlier quilts barely covered the top of the bed. After the bicenntenial in 1976 quilts became popular as bedspreads. This is about the right size for a twin bed. Of course, it could be made from much some older fabrics, but that multicolor stripe looks just like some I had in the late 70's.

I am curious about your avatar. Is it a crewel piece? I did one just like it about 30 years ago; don't know what happened to it but I remember spending hours on it.

Gorgeous. So glad it's found a good home with someone who will love it.

I agree with dekotamaid, 40's and 50's. When I was in high school (late 50's) the homeconomics teacher gave me 5 yards of yellow material very similar to that in your quilt.
