I don't know how the red would hold up... BUT I have AMAZING results getting whites spotless using Oxyclean. I just did a pair of white stretch pants that I came across in my cleaning frenzy that had heaven only knows all over them. Really dingy, brown areas, thought, "before I toss these in the trash"... so glad I did

I would not use straight bleach as it will burn a hole in the fabric. But if you dilute the bleach(don't know how much) and rinse immediately with plenty of water it should work.

I'm keeping an eye on this one too...I just got an old family quilt from my husbands Aunt in Kansas, no idea how old it is and no labels (bummer), but it has yellowed also and when we get back home I need to try and gently clean it. The fabric still seems pretty sturdy, but I want to go slowly. No telling when it was last laundered, but I'm excited to see if it comes clean!
