When you like the kittens knitted in your coworkers cardigan sweater and she takes it off so you can zerox it for the patterns to applique on your next quilt. She avoids you the next time because her sweater has Xmas trees but you locate her and zerox that one too. You don't want to ask her again because she looks at you funny and doesn't wear cardigans anymore.

I was on my way to put wreaths on family and friends' headstones one Memorial day and passed a garage sale where they were selling an old German sewing machine that did not work but had a beautiful sewing table so I stopped loaded it into the station wagon and proceeded to the cemetery. I put a tin over where the machine had been and put my new machine over the opening in the table.

Also, I have 5 machines but prefer hand quilting. Who can figure?

At least yours were meant for fabric. SOMEONE bought Borders' bookstore shelving for fabric (they are awesome)

When you wake in the middle of the night to your husband gently shaking you and saying, "Honey I have no idea what a seam ripper is but I swear I didn't steal it, and if I need to I'll buy you a new one, please just let me sleep!"

It was a particurly bad sewing day and my kids had kept "borrowing" BOTH of my seam rippers!
